Is the MTSs heater strong enough to go from say 158F to 168F for mashing out??

The MTSs heating element was designed specifically for maintaining stable temperatures to within half a degree in our line of Infussion insulated mash vessels. During our tests, the heater possessed the ability to raise internal temperatures between 3-5 degrees an hour depending on ambient temperatures. However, a typical mash-out step involves raising temps relatively quickly to 165-168 degrees to help increase efficiency. The MTSs is not designed for this type of rapid temperature ramping.

Yet, through our own testing and through feedback received from many of our Infussion mash vessel customers, 80%+ efficiency results are extremely common and repeatable. So a mash-out step may not be necessary to achieve excellent efficiency numbers.
